Rights-managed pricing

Arcangel images are licensed on a Rights Managed (RM) basis, meaning the fee reflects the specific way an image will be used rather than a flat rate. Pricing is calculated across a number of factors
including the type of publication, print run or digital reach, territory, duration of use, and the size or prominence of the image within the design.

To get a price, simply use the online calculator on any image page. Add your requirements: format, territory, print run, and so on, and submit. Your account manager will review the specification and
come back to you with a fee. If you have questions about any of the options or aren't sure which settings apply to your project, your account manager is happy to help.

If your organisation has an existing pricing agreement with Arcangel, the calculator will automatically reflect your agreed rates. You'll see your pricing applied as you configure your licence, so there are no surprises.

All licences are invoiced on 30-day payment terms unless another otherwise agreed.

Setting up a pricing agreement

If you're a regular client, or you're looking to simplify how your team licences imagery, we'd love to set up a pricing agreement tailored to your needs. We work closely with publishers of all sizes and understand that
no two operations are the same, so we aim to be as flexible as possible, building arrangements that make sense for the way you actually work.

Whether you'd prefer a subscription-style setup with an agreed upfront fee covering a set volume of licences, or a personalised agreement based on your typical usage patterns, we'll work with you to find the right fit.
The goal is that you pay for what you need and nothing more.

Once an agreement is in place, the process becomes as frictionless as possible. Your calculator will reflect your agreed rates, your team can licence images without needing to check fees at every step, and your account manager remains on hand for anything that falls outside your usual requirements.

To find out more or start a conversation, get in touch with your account manager or contact us directly.

Royalty free pricing

A small selection of images in the Arcangel library are available on a Royalty Free (RF) basis. Unlike Rights Managed licensing, RF images are priced at a flat rate shown directly on the image page, so you can

see the cost upfront without needing to configure a licence.

For most publishing applications, we'd recommend Rights Managed licensing where available. RM gives you greater control over how an image is used , you define the territory, print run, format, and duration,

which means you only pay for what you actually need. This often makes RM the more cost-effective option, and in many cases RM fees can come in lower than their RF equivalent.

RF licences are broad by nature, the same image can be purchased and used by multiple clients simultaneously and without restriction on print run or territory. For book covers and high-profile projects

where a distinctive image matters, that lack of control can be a drawback regardless of price.

For straightforward or lower-visibility uses, RF can be a perfectly practical choice. But if you're unsure which route is right for your project, your account manager will be happy to talk it through.
